The Virginia Tech Alpine Ski Team is a coed club sport founded in 1982. No race experience is required to join our team, but ski experience is expected. In the fall we have workouts four times a week and various social events throughout the semester. During winter break the team goes to Jay Peak, Vermont for a week of training. In the spring, we have weekday ski practices at Winterplace in West Virginia and races on weekends at mountains in Virginia and North Carolina.
Our team belongs to the USCSA (United States Collegiate Skiing Association), and we race in the Southeast Conference. Racing is not required of every member, so if you are interested in becoming a better skier or just having fun, you're more than welcome to join us on the mountain too!
